Shareholders and Key Persons

DETLEF LANGE is Chairman, COO and a co-founder of AVANTIS Energy Group. Detlef Lange, as mechanical engineer, is responsible for the design of the whole product family of wind turbines. He worked many years in the gas turbine industry with multinational experience especially from ABB. He is a keen problem solver and holds many patents worldwide in both the wind turbines and medium voltage electrical switchgear. Detlef Lange is since more than 15 years deeply involved in the wind industry, specifically in electrical matters, development and construction of projects.


RALF BREUER is the CEO and a co-founder of AVANTIS Energy Group. He is former Managing Director of NEG Micon (later on Vestas) and e.n.o. energy. Ralf Breuer has more than 15 years of experience in project finance, development, planning, merger, sales & acquisitions and investment within the wind industry. He is skilled in all fields of wind business.


PROF. HOLGER LANGE is CTO of AVANTIS Energy Group and responsible for the whole technology of the AVANTIS wind turbine family. He is an engineer and a specialist for civil engineering and steel constructions. His career in the wind industry started more than 10 years ago. He is also the Managing director of P. E. Concepts and professor at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, department of wind energy technology.

ARIF DORUK is a co-founder and shareholder of AVANTIS. He has a rich experience in design, development, construction and commissioning of wind farm projects. Arif Doruk has planned a multitude of many Megawatts in European countries. He takes care of documentation and establishment of technical documents. Arif Doruk is the General Manager of SWITCHCRAFT Systems GmbH, which offers turnkey solutions for wind farms and development of power substations.


KLAUS BODENSTEIN is a co-founder of AVANTIS Energy Group. Having worked in Asia for nearly 30 years, Klaus Bodenstein, a trained sinologist, is nevertheless very familiar with wind power business. He had first contact with a 10 kW turbine at the age of 10, when the prototype was supposed to be built by his father near his home village. He retired in mid 2011 and decided to act as company’s advisor.

AVANTIS has some more shareholders, which are currently not actively involved in the daily business. They will gradually join in the management and then be presented here as well.



Managers and Key Staff

Dr. JIMMY TONG is technical General Manager of AVANTIS Asia Ltd. He returned to his native Hong Kong from the US in 2008, where he had studied and worked for companies like Lockheed Martin and others, being in charge for aerodynamic design, fluid dynamics, mechanical loads and similar items. Since joining AVANTIS he is leading a team of mechanical and aerodynamic engineers, who take part in the turbine design. Next to his technical involvement he is strongly supporting sales & project management.

SEBASTIAN DANNENBERG is commercial General Manager of AVANTIS Asia Ltd. and responsible for Asia and Australia. He is a mechanical engineer and joined AVANTIS as the responsible person for Production Planning in the group in 2009. He is working as a consultant and researcher in the field of factory planning especially in Asia. He is still using this knowledge by supporting the planning of the AVANTIS Stralsund factory (Germany). In his position as General Manager Asia he is focusing on sales, service, project management and all commercial matters.

STEVE LEVY is Chief Responsible for the American markets including Canada. He has a long interest in renewable energy but has also worked as a geography professor and cartographic editor at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. Most recently he helped grow a small private technical school into an international company with seven campuses across the U.S. He also worked as a transportation specialist and landscape planning.

CHRISTIAN Q. SPITZNER represents AVANTIS Energy Group in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific market. Christian Q. Spitzner has 20 years of management experience in various markets. Since early 2002 he has focused on emerging renewable energy markets outside of Germany. His experience in Australia over the last seven years has allowed him to gain a thorough understanding of the local renewable energy industry particularly with regard to political, legal, administrative and financial elements and build key relationships in the industry.
